  • What are the season dates?
    • April through October.
  • What is the application / interview process like?
    • Applications are submitted online. All qualified candidates will be interviewed until the position is filled. You can expect an email letting you know if you will be considered or not for the position.
  • What can I do on my time off?
    • Employees earn regular time off and many spend their time exploring the outdoors. There are also opportunities for biking, fishing, swimming, golf, shopping and enjoying area attractions such as the Durango-Silverton train.
  • Are there employee activities?
    • Regular employee activities are held and include events, parties, activities such as horseback riding, group hikes and area concerts. Most are free, some are at a nominal cost.
  • Is my travel to Mesa Verde paid for or is it reimbursable?
    • Travel is not paid for by Aramark. Candidates are responsible for their own transportation to the area.
  • Will I need a car? Is parking available?
    • Parking is available for employees. Free employee shuttles to town are available typically on Tuesday, Thursday, and Sunday to shop, purchase groceries, go to church, or have some fun in Cortez. Schedule subject to change and is dependent on driver availability.
  • Is RV parking available?
    • RV spaces are available. Space is based upon availability.
  • What will I need to bring?
    • Linens, a small set of kitchen wares, clothing for all types of weather, hiking boots, backpack, proof of residency as directed by form I9.
  • Where can I go shopping?
    • Cortez and Durango, CO. Amazon also delivers to the park.
  • Are there appearance guidelines?
    • Yes, they vary based upon department and job duties.
  • Is smoking allowed on site?
    • Tobacco use is limited to areas where it is allowed by law. Although the recreational use of marijuana is legal in Colorado, it is prohibited in National Parks and Aramark is a Drug-Free Workplace.
  • Can my significant other / spouse / partner stay with me in employee housing?
    • Only employees may live in employee housing. If you are both employees we do have a limited amount of couples housing.
  • What is the cost for housing?
    • $100 deposit + $50 per week, payroll deduction.
  • How will I get my mail?
    • Mail may be picked up at the “Point Look Out” (PLO) Administration Offices, Monday-Friday, 9:00 - 5:00 pm. Other options are to purchase a PO Box through the post office in Cortez or Mancos, CO.  Please note that mail takes a few days longer to reach our remote location.
  • I would like to explore the area before I start work. Am I allowed to arrive early?
    • Unfortunately, you are not permitted to arrive more than 1-2 days prior to the Start Date listed on your Employment Details Letter (Offer Letter). If you arrive more than 1-2 days prior to your start date, you will be responsible for your own housing or lodging arrangements that are off property.  
  • Is there internet / cellphone coverage and access?
    • Wi-Fi is provided in the common areas, however, note that reliability may be an issue. Cellular reception is available in most areas of the employee housing, but typically not in the park. Verizon offers the best coverage.
  • Does Aramark provide medical or dental insurance?
    • No, not for most of the seasonal positions. There are several health clinics and an Emergency Room available within 20-minutes of housing (outside of the park). EMS responders are available within the park. Visits to the clinic or ER can be expensive so be prepared. If you require prescriptions, pharmacies are available in Cortez, CO. There is not a nurse available within employee housing. Please prepare to live in a remote location with limited access to medical services.
